Benidorm continues to grow with 20 new hotels and 1,500 apartments
The city council of Benidorm is set to approve the final version of the Partial Plan 1/1 'Levante Expansion' on Wednesday, a proposal aimed at urbanising and redistributing an area of over 575,000 square metres of land in the town, which includes the construction of 20 hotels.
"This is the most significant urban development sector within the municipal area, in terms of size, as outlined in the 1990 General Plan," said the Mayor, Antonio Pérez.
He highlighted that the project includes an area of 13,917 square metres across two plots designated for educational purposes. These plots are part of over 95,000 square metres allocated for new facilities. Additionally, the partial plan encompasses a large central park spanning 61,629m², nearly 13,000m² of gardens, and over 23,000m² of pedestrianised open spaces.
Furthermore, the plan allocates a total of 65% of land for public facilities and green areas, with the remaining 35% designated for residential, tourist, and hotel construction.
"The buildings will have a minimum height of 20 floors, maintaining Benidorm's characteristic vertical city model, which has made us a benchmark in sustainability," Pérez affirmed.
According to the project, the number of tourist apartments to be created will be 1,564, while approximately 780 residential apartments are planned, alongside the twenty new hotels.
