VIDEO: 13 killed in a fire at a nightclub in Murcia
The Emergency Coordination Centre has confirmed that the death toll from a fire that occurred early this morning at a nightclub in the Atalayas area of Murcia has risen to 13, with the possibility of more victims not being ruled out.
Multiple calls began to reach the Emergency Coordination Centre at around 6:00am reporting the, so they immediately dispatched several teams of firefighters from the Murcia City Fire and Rescue Service (SEIS) to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

On arrival, they requested the assistance of a helicopter from the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies due to the intensity of the fire.
Additionally, several medicalized ambulances were sent to the location to attend to the injured, who suffered from smoke inhalation, with several of them being transported to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Local Police of Murcia closed access to the area, including the old Alicante road.
SEIS reported at 9:00am that the fire was under control and not far from being fully extinguished and an investigation has been opened to find the source of the blaze.
