A wild boar causes panic on a beach in Alicante and leaves two injured
A part of the Carrer La Mar beach in El Campello had to be evacuated yesterday (Saturday) due to the presence of a wild boar. While trying to capture it, the animal injured a local police officer and a member of the Alicante Animal Protection Agency, and given the threat to the public, the Guardia Civil had to shoot the animal.
The incident occurred at around midday, when the presence of the animal was detected in the water and immediately, the lifeguard and beach surveillance service activated the relevant protocol and evacuated that area of the beach because of the wild animal.
In addition to the lifeguards, agents of the Benemérita Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA), the Local Police, a member of the Alicante Animal Protection Agency were all called to the beach to deal with the incident.
