A young woman falls from moving car after being stabbed by her boyfriend in Mijas
The Guardia Civil are looking for a British man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, who then fell out of a moving car in Mijas on the Costa del Sol. Investigators are still unclear whether the alleged attacker pushed her out of the car or whether she jumped from it to escape him.
The couple had been at a beach club on the Mijas coast and, but began to argue when they got into the car. During the course of the dispute, the man allegedly stabbed the young woman in the thigh, which is when she exited the moving vehicle.
Immediately afterwards, the man fled the scene and his whereabouts are still unknown, to the extent that police believe that he may have fled via Gibraltar.
Specialists at Mijas police station believe they have already identified the man, and if his identity is confirmed, then he is around 35 years old and has a long history of violence in the UK.
After the attack, the victim was rushed to the Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella, where she was admitted with a serious stab wound to the leg, as well as cuts and bruises resulting from the fall from the car.
The Guardia Civil considered her to be at risk, due to the alleged dangerousness of the man, so kept a police presence during her stay in hospital. The investigation continues.
