Abandoned Torremolinos hotel to become a haven for digital nomads
In an exciting development, Nuovit, a forward-thinking property developer, has unveiled plans to breathe new life into the long-abandoned Hotel Los Alamos in Torremolinos. This ambitious project aims to convert the neglected hotel into a vibrant "co-living" space designed exclusively for digital nomads who rely on nothing more than a computer and a stable internet connection to live and work.
While specific details of the 15,000 square metre property's design are still under wraps, the developer has confirmed their commitment to this exciting project.
The once-thriving Hotel Los Alamos has fallen into disrepair over the past decade, following the bankruptcy of its management company. Squatters had taken over the premises, causing concern among residents, and leading to authorities sealing off the building.
Over the years, several companies expressed interest in revitalizing the property, but none of these proposals came to fruition. In 2019, the Edipsa real estate company acquired the site, announcing plans for a residential complex featuring 56 homes, communal spaces, gardens, and pools. However, even this project remained unrealized.
Now, with Nuovit's visionary plan to transform this once-beloved tourist destination into a hub for remote workers, there is newfound hope that the property's decade-long uncertainty will come to a close.
Local residents, who once regarded the abandoned building as an eyesore, can look forward to a brighter future for this prominent location in the Costa del Sol.
