Altea and Denia shine bright among Spain's most captivating towns on the coast
Altea and Denia, two picturesque gems along the sun-soaked Spanish coast, have once again demonstrated their irresistible charm by securing places among the top twenty most enchanting coastal towns in Spain, as recognized by the prestigious British newspaper, The Telegraph.
Situated in the heart of the Costa Blanca, the province of Alicante frequently finds itself in the spotlight of international media as a destination that dreams are made of.
Denia's mayor, Vicent Grimalt, expressed his elation at this well-deserved recognition, stating, "It's heartwarming to see our charming town acknowledged from across the seas."
In the esteemed rankings of The Telegraph, Altea has claimed the impressive seventh position, while Denia proudly holds the thirteenth spot.
The Valencian Community, as a whole, shares in the glory, as Peníscola, gracing the far end of the picturesque coast, secures a well-deserved mention.
The enduring fascination of the UK with this region is only natural, given that British tourists constitute the largest group of visitors to the Costa Blanca. In August, their numbers surged by an impressive 16.2% compared to the previous year, serving as a testament to the enduring allure of this corner of Spain.
However, it is crucial to note that visitor numbers have not yet fully rebounded to the pre-2020 levels. Hence, it remains essential to consistently showcase the province's captivating charms to further fuel this ongoing recovery.
