An excursion company is sanctioned for taking tourists by boat to the private islet of s'Espalmador
The Balearic Islands Government are processing four sanctions against a boat excursion company for disembarking people without authorization in s'Espalmador, an islet located next to Formentera.
To carry out this type of activity, a company must have a favourable report from the Consell de Formentera and the Ses Salines Natural Park of Ibiza and Formentera, and the relevant authorisation from Costas. Currently, only one company has all this documentation and permission to do so.
At the same time, also in s'Espalmador, Environmental Agents (AMA) from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Marine Environment, have fined an individual for riding a jet ski in the Racó bathing area, and another for the installation of speakers on sa Torreta beach.
These types of activities on the islet of s'Espalmador also require authorization from the Government of the Balearic Islands.
