Bank robber who struck same bank twice in five days, is apprehended by police

In a baffling sequence of events, a brazen bank robber in the town of Cabañas de la Sagra, Toledo, not only successfully pulled off a heist but also displayed audacity by returning to the same bank just five days later in an attempt to repeat his criminal feat. However, his reckless actions ultimately led to his capture by law enforcement authorities.

The audacious robber's exploits began in late August when he targeted a local bank branch. Wearing a mask and brandishing a firearm, he stormed into the bank, menacing the sole employee present. He compelled her to unlock the bank's safe, from which he made off with a substantial sum of €67,000.

What set this criminal apart was his meticulous approach to covering his tracks. After securing the ill-gotten funds, he forced the bank employee to clean all surfaces he had touched with a cloth and ammonia, erasing any potential fingerprints he might have left behind.

The subsequent investigation into the initial bank robbery was led by the Judicial Police Team of the Guardia Civil of Illescas, in collaboration with the ROCA Team and the Local Police of Cabañas. Their combined efforts would soon lead to a shocking twist in the case.

Just five days after successfully robbing the bank, the audacious thief, donning a wig, sunglasses, and a backpack, returned to the same bank with intentions to strike again. Unfortunately for him, the bank was closed at the time, foiling his plans. Nevertheless, his peculiar behaviour did not go unnoticed.

A vigilant officer from the Cabañas Local Police spotted the suspect and acted swiftly, immediately notifying the Guardia Civil investigators. Upon their arrival at the scene, they identified the man and connected him to the bank robbery that had occurred just five days earlier. A search of his belongings yielded incriminating evidence, including disguise articles and a replica firearm.

In light of this evidence, the court approved a thorough search of the suspect's residence, which uncovered damning findings. Investigators discovered three additional fake firearms, €25,000 in cash, and an array of disguises such as masks, sunglasses, and wigs. Following these revelations, the court ordered the suspect into provisional imprisonment.

The audacity and recklessness of this criminal not only led to his eventual capture but are also a stark reminder that even the most daring criminals are not immune to the relentless pursuit of justice by law enforcement agencies.
