Benidorm is on target to have one of its best summers ever
The Minister of Tourism for the Valencian Community, Nuria Montes, said yesterday (Monday) that summer in Benidorm “may be the best in its history” due to the expected occupancy figures and last-minute bookings in July and August.
Montes visited Benidorm yesterday, where she was received by the city’s mayor, Toni Pérez, before meeting with representatives of the local tourism sector and business associations.
Following this, she took part in a walk along Levante Beach accompanied by the mayor and members of the local government, to take in the sights of Benidorm during the peak tourist season.
Regarding the forecasts for the summer, she said “We are going to touch what we call ‘technically full’ in a large part of the region, and Benidorm is one of them.”
Montes said predictions are that hotel occupancy will exceed 90% in the Valencian Community, saying “It is true that prices have risen, not so much the profitability of the companies, which are still recovering from what they have been through in the last 3 years during and since the pandemic.”
“However, the entire sector, workers and the authorities agree that it is going to be a very good summer, perhaps one of the best in history”.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, said he was “satisfied and happy” to receive the minister “and to be able to talk about tourism, share ideas with business associations and verify that the good progress of the tourist season also requires work to draw the lines that mark where we are, and where we want to take tourism in our area.”
