Charred body found inside burned country house in Estepona
A dead body was discovered inside a country house that caught fire yesterday afternoon (Monday) in the town of Estepona, as reported by the 112 Andalucía Emergency Services, which sources close to the case have indicated that the deceased individual was badly burned.
The incident occurred around 4:50pm when a concerned citizen called 112 to report a fire in a rural dwelling in the Puerto de La Palma area, near El Padrón.
Upon receiving the call, the emergency coordination centre promptly dispatched firefighters, INFOCA personnel, the Local Police, the National Police, and their Community-Attached Unit, as well as medical resources.
Local police sources that, following the fire's extinguishment, emergency responders found a dead body inside the house but no further details about the person were disclosed.
Octogenarian and Carer Hospitalized After House Fire.
On Sunday, an octogenarian woman and her carer were hospitalized after being affected by a house fire in the residential area of Torre del Mar, Vélez-Málaga, according to the 112 Andalucía emergency services.
The incident occurred on the fifth floor of Calle Princesa at around 11:15am when neighbours alerted 112 and reported that a woman had thrown a mattress out of the window.
The fire brigade and the Local Police rushed to the scene, but it had already been put out by a neighbour using a fire extinguisher.
The elderly homeowner suffered smoke inhalation, and the caregiver sustained burns to her arm. They were both evacuated to the Axarquía Hospital, while the firefighters ventilated the smoke-affected apartment. Fortunately, the burning mattress thrown out of the window caused no harm to people or property below on the street.
