Grupotel expands its presence in Mallorca with the acquisition of Club Cala Marsal
Grupotel Hotels & Resorts, a leading hospitality group, has further solidified its presence in Spain with the recent acquisition of Club Cala Marsal in Portocolom, Mallorca.
This strategic move marks the 25th hotel added to Grupotel's portfolio in Mallorca and brings the total number of properties under its banner to 47, spanning across the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, and Barcelona.
Club Cala Marsal, a 4-star hotel boasting 347 rooms, has been acquired by Grupotel with plans for a comprehensive refurbishment during the winter of 2024-2025. The Ramis family, owners of Grupotel, have disclosed their commitment to enhancing and modernizing the facilities to meet the evolving demands of the discerning traveller.
This acquisition solidifies Grupotel's position as the third-largest hotel chain in Mallorca, where the majority of its extensive portfolio is concentrated, totalling 25 properties.
According to reports from Diario de Mallorca, Grupotel also manages 7 hotels in Menorca, 4 in Ibiza, 7 in Gran Canaria, 2 in Lanzarote, and an additional 2 in Barcelona.
The expansion aligns with Grupotel's overarching strategy to provide exceptional hospitality experiences across diverse Spanish destinations, catering to a wide range of preferences and travel needs.
