More rain is coming this weekend along the Costa del Sol
More rain is forecast for the Costa del Sol this weekend after the Malaga province had its first downpours in 80 days on Thursday (18th May). The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) says that there is an 85% chance of rain today, Saturday, until the early hours of tomorrow.
They are now forecasting occasional heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms that will continue through until Tuesday or Wednesday.
Today will start with cloudy intervals and a maximum temperature of around 19°C with light showers that could be accompanied by thunderstorms. This evening will be more stable, with only a 50% chance of showers, and temperatures tonight of 15°C.
However, AEMET warns that weather conditions tomorrow (Sunday) could be similar to Thursday with a 75-80% chance of storms across the south coast. A spokesperson for AEMET said, “It is likely that bad weather warnings will be activated again as it is a very uncertain situation which is why we have to watch it day by day."
AEMET are also forecasting rain on Monday and Tuesday, and temperatures will remain cooler than usual for this time of year, between 20 to 22°C.
