Spanish holiday resorts are getting tired of stag and hen party tourism
The days of groups of people dressed in tacky lingerie with inflatable dolls or hats with plastic genitalia on them could be numbered in most cities in Spain. Both town halls, bars, and accommodations are getting fed up with hosting this type of obscene tourism based on stag and hen parties.
Málaga, Córdoba, Logroño, León, Salamanca, Seville, and Granada are just some of the cities whose town halls have already begun to modify their municipal ordinances to put an end to this type of tourism model, that people who live and work in these resorts don’t want anymore as they want a more refined profile of tourist.
Palma and Magaluf are also trying to get rid of the image of ‘excess’ tourism that they have been famous for, with new rules and fines for drunken behaviour, loud music, balcony hopping, and only wearing swimwear in the street.
Town Halls are implementing measures that seek to put an end to improper displays of clothing, accessories, and objects of a sexual nature on public roads, and hoteliers are using their rights to refuse admission to unruly groups that are on ‘alcohol-based’ holidays, who may end up disturbing the rest of the clientele.
