Storms force closure of Valencia and Sagunto ports in the Costa Blanca
Valencia and Sagunto ports remain closed to maritime traffic today (Monday) because of adverse sea conditions, following their closure yesterday due to the inclement weather brought about by the recent DANA storm, which has impacted large parts of Spain.
The Port of Valencia is experiencing a partial closure, with no interruption in the transport of cargo to the Balearic Islands or ferry services, but small boats and excursion boats are not allowed out.
Sagunto, which is a commercial port, is continuing with cargo ships but is closed to smaller vessels.
Severe Waves and Wind:
Waves have surged to a substantial height of 6.6 metres this morning in the Valencian Community, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), with a yellow weather warning in place for dangerous sea conditions.
There is also an active weather warning for the possibility of three-metre high waves expected along the northern coast of Castellón, accompanied by strong winds and swell from the northeast.
The northeast and east winds are forecast to persist throughout the day, with gusts ranging between 40 and 50km/h, resulting in rough seas along the coast, with waves exceeding 2.5 metres.

Regarding temperatures, the minimum temperature for today stands at 24.3 degrees Celsius in Torreblanca, 24.5 degrees in Valencia, 25 degrees at the Valencia, Sagunt, and Castelló Airports, 25.3 degrees in Alicante, 25.4 degrees in Pego and Elx, 25.6 degrees in Miramar, 25.9 degrees in Rojales, 26 degrees at Alicante-Elx Airport, 26.1 degrees in Orihuela and Xàbia, and 27.7 degrees in Benidorm, as reported by AEMET.
