Taxi driver tests almost five times over the allowed alcohol limit in Fuengirola
A taxi driver has tested almost five times over the alcohol limit for driving in Fuengirola. A member of the public alerted police after seeing a man driving a taxi erratically in Calle Capitan on Wednesday 10th May, at about 7:00pm, after he allegedly hit several bollards and a parked motorbike.
Apparently, he was driving so recklessly that members of the public got involved and forced open the driver’s door of the cab when he parked at the marina, to stop him from continuing on his way, according to the police report.
Local Police officers arrived and breathalysed the man, who returned a positive result of 1.16mg/l, which is almost five times over the legal alcohol limit for driving in Spain.
Police impounded the vehicle and have launched an investigation into the incident, and the driver has been summoned to appear in court.
