The Guardia Civil destroys 10 kilos of dynamite found in a garage in Valencia
The Guardia Civil have destroyed ten kilograms of 3-G dynamite in a controlled explosion in Valencia, which a resident of the town of Caudete de las Fuentes found inside his garage at home not knowing they were there, as reported in an official press release.
This man notified the authorities and the alert reached the COC Guardia Civil Emergency Centre, informing them that four boxes of dynamite-type explosives had been found unexpectedly by the caller.
After finding the explosives in his garage, the man loaded them into the boot of his car, and parked it in a safe place away from his house and other buildings.
Upon arrival, officers took a careful look at the materials and verified that it was dynamite and cordoned off the area, and called in the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of the Requena Main Post.
Apart from the explosives contained in the boxes, agents observed that there were also casings, which could be used to set off the explosive charges, and a cord that the man handed over, which was a possible detonator.
Specialized agents of the EDEX (Explosive Disposal Team) have confirmed that in total there were ten kilos of 3-G dynamite, 300 pyrotechnic detonators, and five metres of tarred slow fuse.
The materials have been removed and destroyed at the Las Casas de Utiel Quarry in Valencia, in a controlled and safe explosion.
