The heatwave claims first official fatality of summer in Andalucía
The first heatwave of the summer has claimed its first fatality in Spain after a 47-year-old man died from heatstroke in Seville in Andalucía on Sunday.
The Ministry of Health have confirmed that the death of the man from Aznalcóllar, who had other medical issues, happened whilst he was working outdoors.
The State Meteorological Agency for Spain (AEMET) activated a red warning yesterday for the risk of maximum temperatures up to 44°C in Seville for today, tomorrow, and Thursday.
The heatwave is expected to last until Monday (July 3rd) with advice from the government to stay inside, stay hydrated, and avoid physical exercise in the daylight hours wherever possible.
