The shark that forced the evacuation of a beach in Orihuela is found dead
A blue shark swimming close to the shore of the Playa de Aguamarina beach in Orihuela (Alicante) on Thursday, which surprised bathers and led to the police evacuating the area, has been found dead on the shore of another beach just a short way up the coast.
Even though blue sharks don’t attack humans, no one was taking any chances as bathers fled from the water with one woman needing medical attention for an anxiety attack after the incident.
After the Local Police cleared the sea and the beach the shark swam off and lifeguards reported it swimming up the coast in the direction of Cabo Roig.
Now, it has become evident that shortly after the beach incident, the shark appeared dead in the rocks on the beach of La Caleta in Cabo Roig, which is 1.9 kilometres away from where it was first seen, as reported by 20minutos.
