The supermarket chain that offers discounts to over 65s in Spain
Food prices have soared this year and aren’t showing any signs of slowing down, which is impacting everyone’s pockets, but especially ‘vulnerable’ groups such as the elderly.
A few years ago, Carrefour helped the over 65s by launching a loyalty card designed specifically for this age group, it’s free and all you have to do is show your TIE card at any Carrefour store, to prove you are a resident over the age of 65, and fill in a form to become a member of Club Carrefour, and then start enjoying its benefits.
When you use it, the card automatically discounts the IVA sales tax on all fresh products, such as meat, delicatessen products, fish, bread and pastries, fruit and vegetables, cooked dishes, cheeses, and eggs, saving you up to 20% on items you have purchased.
As a Club Carrefour member, you can save 1% on all of your shopping, 8% on fuel at Carrefour petrol stations and 4% at CEPSA petrol stations, and take advantage of exclusive discounts they offer on different products every quarter.
