Tragic death in Navarra: Young man dies after mobile phone 'explodes' while charging
In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 25-year-old man from Navarra, in the northern region of Spain, has tragically died after his mobile phone reportedly overheated and exploded when he was asleep, while charging on a bedside table.
The horrifying incident unfolded at around 2:20pm on Sunday (October 8th), when concerned neighbours were startled by a loud explosion emanating from a residence in Bera, as reported by Diario de Navarra. The explosion also sparked a small fire within the room where the young man was asleep.
Quickly responding to the emergency, authorities were alerted, and officers immediately initiated CPR while awaiting the arrival of medical professionals. The severity of the victim's condition prompted them to call for a helicopter that airlifted him to Cruces Hospital for urgent medical care.
Despite valiant efforts by medical personnel, the young man ultimately succumbed to his injuries, which included severe burns and smoke inhalation, and was pronounced dead shortly after.
