Twenty people arrested and 3,000 fake goods seized from a market in Marbella
The National Police have arrested twenty people and seized almost 3,000 counterfeit handbags, wallets, belts, caps, and other items at a street market in Marbella on the Costa del Sol.
Those responsible were selling the fake products in stalls at a local market, where goods with 47 different counterfeit brands printed or tagged on them were found, according to a police press release.
The police operation was carried out on Monday after inspecting the market stalls on June 26th to confirm the presence of counterfeit goods.
Lawyers representing the brands acted as advisors to the police and will start processing claims against those responsible for loss of earnings and damage to industrial copyright.
