VIDEO: Massive fire in Benidorm with plume of smoke visible from all over the city
Firefighters are tackling a huge fire in Benidorm after it started burning through several plots of scrubland at about 4pm this afternoon, emitting a huge plume of smoke that is visible from all over the city.
According to local reports it has burned through several plots in Armanello, which is near the market town of Benidorm, and is still active at the time of reporting.
The land where the fire started is reported to be in an open area near nightclubs, and the fire has spread across several plots that have a large amount of rubbish on them including abandoned mattresses as well as other disposed items.
Officials have said that no injuries have been reported so far, and as you can see from the videos on Twitter, there is now aerial support from planes and helicopters who are assisting ground crews to help get the fire under control as soon as possible.
